This section will guide you through the process of setting up a split test for any of your Bespoke Overlay campaigns.
By conducting an A/B test on your bespoke overlay campaigns, you can assess the impact of different variables—such as testing content with or without an incentive in the overlay design or testing the impacts of precise content displayed in your campaign.
Running split tests on your bespoke overlay campaigns enables you to identify the most effective strategies for your site, helping you optimise your approach for better results.
The system allows you to create multiple split tests, and you can choose to run them for any duration that suits your needs.
To get started, simply navigate to the Split Tests tab located at the top of the Overlays section in your dashboard.
How to Create a Split Test
- Access the Salesfire Dashboard:
Start by opening the Main Menu in your Salesfire Dashboard and navigate to the On-Site Messaging option and then select Bespoke Overlays and then Split Tests. - Creating a split test:
After selecting the split test option, select the New bespoke split test button. - Select Overlay Campaigns for Testing:
After selecting the split test option, you'll be prompted to choose the overlay campaigns you want to test and then a Add Variant button add an additional campaign to run against your selection. - Adjust Weighting Percentages (Optional):
The system will automatically assign an equal split (50/50) for your test. However, you can customise the percentage distribution if you wish to allocate more traffic to one variant over the other. - Activate the Split Test:
Once you've chosen the overlays and set your weighting, click to create the test. This will activate the campaigns and launch the split test. - Make Sure the Overlays Are Live:
Don't forget to ensure your overlay campaigns are set to "live" within the Bespoke Overlays section of the dashboard. This step is essential for the split test to run properly. - Monitor and Conclude the Test:
Once the test is live, you can monitor the results. We recommend running the split test for at least two weeks to collect sufficient data and gain meaningful insights into which campaign performs better. Results of the split test can be found in your On-Site Messaging analytics.
When you’re ready to conclude the test, you can finish it and review the results to determine the best-performing overlay.
