The Pages condition

The Pages condition allows you to control where the campaign appears on your site by targeting specific pages.

This is useful if you want to promote an offer related to a particular product, brand, or category.

Targeting Options

You can choose how broadly or narrowly your campaign is displayed using the following options:

All

The All setting allows an Overlay to trigger across all pages of your website.

Whitelist

The Whitelist option allows you to specify the pages where the campaign should appear.

Blacklist

The Blacklist option allows you to exclude certain pages so the campaign will not appear on them.

Basic vs Advanced Mode

Basic Mode (Recommended)

We recommend using Basic mode when creating whitelist or blacklist rules.
This option provides the most reliable way to target pages using simple URL structures.

Advanced Mode

The Advanced setting allows whitelist and blacklist rules to be used together.

This is helpful when you want to:

  • Show a campaign on a specific category, but
  • Exclude certain pages within that category

For example, you could whitelist a category page but blacklist specific product pages within that category.

Pages Best Practices

When creating whitelist or blacklist rules, we recommend using Basic mode and targeting common keywords within your URL structure.

Example 1: Targeting a Category

If your category URL is:

www.myshop.co.uk/trainers

To target all trainers pages:

  • Select Basic
  • Add /trainers

Example 2: Targeting a Brand Page

If your product URL structure is:

www.myshop.co.uk/trainers/brand/

To target a specific brand page:

  • Select Basic or Contains
  • Enter the brand name

Example 3: Targeting a Homepage

To whitelist your homepage:

  • Use Basic mode
  • Add the forward slash character /

This will usually target the homepage successfully.

However, if your homepage URL includes UTM tracking parameters, such as:

www.myshop.co.uk/?utm_source=email

the rule using / may not apply.

In this case, you should whitelist the full URL including the UTM parameters.

Using the “Contains” Option

If you want to target a broader area of your website, use the Contains option from the dropdown menu.

This allows you to enter a keyword that appears within the URL, such as:

  • brand
  • category

The campaign will then trigger on any page where that word appears in the URL.
